Top Crash Landing on You Film Locations in Switzerland

Crash Landing On You couple shot, Iseltwald

Last week, we did a daytrip seeking out the “Crash Landing On You” film locations in Switzerland: The idyllic holiday village of Iseltwald right on the shores of Lake Brienz, and the paranomic bridge at Sigriswil.

Fans of the hit Netflix K-Drama Crash Landing on You will know that are the two locations ≈ I’d been meaning to visit these film locations since a long time back and finally we found the chance to do so!

How to get there:

If you’re taking public transport: Hop on the train till you reach the main train station at Interlaken Ost. Then board the Line 103 bus in the direction of Iseltwald Dorfplatz, and alight at the last stop.

Tip: It is well-worth getting the Day Pass (especially the Saver one) for your trip. It will cover your trips to and from Interlaken, even the boat cruise. To see more details and check for connections, you can visit the Swiss Railways website.

Things to do:

Take the classic Crash Landing On You shot at the landing stage

The excited K-drama fan in me headed directly for the famous landing stage, where the beautiful, sad piano scene by Ri Jeong heok was filmed. It looked so dreamy in the drama and even more so in real life!

We managed to capture some romantic shots on the deck. Pretty empty since there were hardly any tourists!

2. Chill by the lake

At the tip of the lake sits the Seeburg (which means “lake-castle” in German). It was built during the Middle Ages but have since been converted into a rehabilitation center. From afar, the castle looks stunning, as if floating on the blue-green waters of the lake.

The best thing to do when in front of such a scenic view is to simply do nothing! There are many cafes and restaurants lined up along the promenade. So just grab a ice cold beer, relax and watch the day go by.

But if you’re keen on sports, then swimming and stand-up paddle boating would be ideal for exploring Lake Brienz.

Go on a Boat Cruise

Forget airplane mode – say hello to boat mode! Another must-do at Iseltwald is the boat cruise, which gives you the opportunity to sail through picturesque villages and mountain sceneries around Lake Brienz. The cruise will stop by the spectacular Giessbach waterfall. Unfortunately, we were running short on time to head to the next location so we had to give the cruise a miss. Come to think about it, I’m already regretting my decision….T.T I really should have made use of my daypass to go on the cruise! Gonna make sure that there is a next time for it!

Sigriswil

We headed to our next location the panorama bridge at Sigriswil. In Crash Landing On You, this was where Se-ri initially wanted to attempt suicide, and Ri Jeong-hyeok stopped her from doing so by asking her to take a picture of him and Seo Dan.

How to get there:

Sigriswil is about an hour away from Iseltwald. From Thun train station, take bus no. 25 until ‘Sigriswil, Dorf’. The bridge is 5 minute walk from the bus stop.

This 340m long pedestrian suspension bridge connects the two villages of Aeschlen and Sigriswil, and affords a spectacular view on Lake Thun and the Bernese Alps. We didn’t make the crossing to reach Aeschlen, as the entrance fee for both of us would have cost 16CHF (that’s 22SGD) and I felt that it was a pretty insane price to pay just to WALK on the bridge!?

Nevertheless I managed to capture some shots at the starting point!

Thankful to my hubby Vince who was patient and fully indulged me for this Crash Landing on You daytrip :B

I visited Sigrisbrücke today, and it was beautiful! They made a crash landing on you poster on the bridge, but somebody ripped the half 🙁 It had a QR code on it, but the youtube link, which it opens then is private 😮 But sooooo beautiful!
